About the Photographer
“ ...I have great hopes and dreams for the rest of my life (hopefully also involving photography), but ultimately God is in control...”
Hey Y'all! I thought it would be fun to tell you guys what I am all about. My name is Grace Anderson and I have a passion for photography. I became interested in photography a few years ago and love doing it! I am originally from central Kentucky but I now live in south eastern Kentucky where may family moved when I was younger.
I live in a town called Pineville because there is a small school located here called Clear Creek Baptist Bible College. Because my family used to work here, I have been living here for over 10 years and I have begun my studies here as a college student. I am called to do children's ministry.
I am 19 years old and was homeschooled all my life up until I attended college. I am Christian and I have great hopes and dreams for the rest of my life (hopefully also involving photography), but ultimately God is in control and I am ready to go anywhere he calls me to go and do anything He asks me to do.
Why I am a Christian
“I had learned that God sent his son Jesus to earth to die for the sins of the world including mine.”
I became a Christian when I was six years old. To be completely fair and honest I only had the most basic understanding of why I needed to become a Christian. I knew I was a sinner which meant I do bad things and that because I was a sinner I could not go to heaven. I have been in church before I was born and for the six year of always being in church up until that point I learned a lot about God and the gift of his son Jesus.
I had learned that God sent his son Jesus to earth to die for the sins of the world including mine. I knew that my sin was the reason I was separated from God. According to the Bible in John 3:16 all I had to do was believe in Jesus and he would take my sins away so that I wouldn't be separated from God.
So I talked to my parents a lot about how I could be saved, and one day at the kitchen table I decided to believe in Jesus. He came into my life and now I am no longer separated from God. I still sin and do bad things because we are all sinful, but I am forgiven. Becoming a Christian does not make you perfect, but Jesus' blood pays for your sins that you have committed before you were saved and in advance for the ones you haven't done yet.
The Bible tells us in John 10:28 that once you are saved you have eternal life and no one can take that away from you. So even though I still sin it can't cause me to lose my Christianity. But just because I can be saved and still sin that does not mean I am the same person I was before. It means I strive to be like Christ. I will never be perfect like Jesus, and salvation is not defined by things we do, but as a result of my salvation I will not want to sin so I can do my best to behave like Jesus would.
That is why I decided to be a Christian and I encourage anyone who reads this and has questions or wants to know more to please contact me. You can find my information under the contacts page. I hope you do!
Purpose for this site
The reason I wanted to open this site was so that I could both advertise my photography as a business but also advertise my faith. Hence the name Faith&Photography. It is my goal to share with you pictures of my recent work and set up appointments for anyone who would like me to do a session with them. Not only that I would like to share the occasional devotion on my blog with y'all so that you can also feast your hearts on the truth of God's word. I look forward to hopefully hearing from some of you guys and posting devotionals for your enjoyment!
